Richard Gibbons founded Richard Gibbons & Associates in 1990 after a six-year partnership in the firm Madel Gibbons Associates. Prior to this, Richard was a senior designer at Graham Anderson Probst & White and worked as an Architect with the Austin Company, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Interplan in Rome. Richard is now President of Gibbons, Fortman & Associates.

Richard received a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Notre Dame in 1973 and attended the American Academy in Rome in 1972 and 1973.

Richard, originally from Ohio, moved to the Chicago area in 1974 to pursue his career in Architecture. As well as being a successful Architect, Richard is also an accomplished furniture designer and painter and has his work represented at the Roy Boyd Gallery in Chicago.
